Julie Bénédicte Lambert lives and works in Montreal, Quebec.
After completing her bachelor’s degree in Studio arts at Concordia University (2000), she decides to improve her technical skills in fibre structures by completing a DEC at the Montreal Centre for Contemporary Textiles (2013).
Laureate of the 2020 François-Houdé award, Julie Bénédicte benefits from a grant at SODEC, Canada Council for the Arts, as well as from Caisse de la culture Desjardins. She is currently teaching at the Montreal Center for Contemporary Textiles and she has worked as technician for the Fibres and Material Practices program at Concordia University from 2013 to 2021.
Her work has been shown in Quebec (Montréal, Deschambault-Grondines), in France (Lyon), in the US (Pittsburgh, Reno), in Ukraine (Kherson et Ivano-Frankivs’k) and Austria (Haslach). It has recently been featured in a french publication on the theme of the fold : The art of folding (Promopress, 2017)
